Akna is the Mayan goddess of birth and motherhood. The ancient protector of new moms and new life. We are a Miami-based wellness brand built by a Board-Certified Lactation Consultant and a co-founder who grew up in Mexico, watching the women around him navigate postpartum without the support their own culture had always provided.

In Mexico and across Latin America, the 40 days after birth have always had a name: la
cuarentena. New moms were fed warm broths and herbal teas, held by family, and given one
job to heal.
Ixbut was part of that. Brewed into tea, passed from grandmother to daughter for centuries, long before anyone had a clinical word for what it did. AWe didn't invent this. We honored it.
